Product Description
Energy Boost is a complex carbohydrate powder, which when mixed with water provides a pleasant tasting and refreshing energy drink designed to provide sports men and women with a quick but prolonged release of energy.
Taking the right sort of carbohydrate before and after training or competing can have a major impact on energy and performance.
Energy for training and competitions is stored in the muscles as a carbohydrate called glycogen. Once this store is used up, blood sugar levels can fall, leaving the athlete fatigued and lethargic.
Many sports people make the mistake of taking glucose or simple sugars to restore glycogen. These sugars are rapidly absorbed into the blood stream. In turn the hormone insulin is released, lowering the blood sugar and lowering energy.
By taking Energy Boost, which is complex carbohydrates there is a slow release of energy into the blood stream, and blood sugar remains at a constant level.
Energy Boost may be taken before/during or after training. In order to optimise the body’s replenishment of glycogen after training Energy Boost should be consumed within 45 minutes of completing your exercise.
As glycogen stores are depleted every time you train hard, it is important to ensure you take Energy Boost every time you train.
